Volunteer Ghana

Programme includes
1. Arrival and airport pick–up.
2. One week accommodation and orientation.
3. Work placements in association with Ghana national volunteer service.
4. Transport assistance to location of work and accommodation.
5. Immigration services and visas acquisition.
6. Accommodation booking & arrangement at place of work.
7. Support Services.
8. Comprehensive Medical Support.
9. One Week Orientation in Accra (includes Accommodation).
10. Insurance and Flights are additional Expenses.

 *Applicants are advised to have at least EUR 500 as Personal Funds.
 Note that cost of living and transport in Ghana is low so your money will go a long way to sustain you.

Arrival and Airport Pick-up
On arrival, volunteers will be registered and important telephone numbers will be given to them, including Brochures on volunteering in Ghana, work locations, maps, etc.
They will be transferred from the airport to a hostel where orientation will be conducted.
They will be met at the airport and immigration assistance will be offered to them.

One Week Accommodation and Orientation.
Volunteers will be hosted in a hostel and a thorough Orientation will be conducted on them. Topics include Ghana, Culture of the People, Tourists Sites (Ecotourism, Wild life & Game, Heritage & Traditions, Beaches, Sex and relationships, Basic laws etc.)

Accommodation
YES, decent accommodations.

• In Accra, it’s a modern hostel with big rooms. It has the environment of a home stay.

• For the Work place, accommodations vary depending on Region and Location. Some will get a flat (Kitchen, Toilet, Bathroom, Living Room and Bedroom).

• Some will have a Living Room and Bedroom, then share Kitchen etc. varied. Charges are at minimum rates.

• Some will get accommodation for free as part of the work package, depending on location and district.

Work Placements
Placements are made on all over the country. Volunteers can make their choice of location as well as field of work.
Placements are made in association with National Volunteer service .Ghana is divided into 10 regions.

Transport and Accommodation
• Participants will be assisted with transport to work sites. Accommodations are usually located at work sites; some are also a walking distance away.

Selection Criteria
• 18 years & above
• Willing to work for a modest living wages.
• Able to spend 3-24 months on work
• To participate in orientation and briefing.
