Pilgrimage to the Vatican

1) ITINERARY

Day 1) Upon arrival in Rome, you will be met by your Tour Manager, who will be with you for the duration of your stay in Italy. Transfer by private coach to your hotel in Rome for dinner and overnight.

Day 2) This morning after breakfast departure to the Vatican City to attend the Pope’s audience. Visit of the St Peter’s Basilica, the largest of all Catholic Churches, and the Vatican Museums. Admire the Sistine Chapel, with Michelangelo’s masterpiece ceiling and last Judgement. Rest of the day at leisure. Meet your local Tour Manager to return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3) ThIs morning we depart from the Eternal City heading south. Stop en route in Montecassino to visit the famous Monastery founded by St. Benedict. Continue to Pietrelcina, the birthplace of Padre Pio. Then on to San G. Rotondo for dinner and overnight.

Day 4) Today, visit the sites of Padre Pio’s life, including his tomb and the hospital Padre Pio built. Aftermoon excursion to Mt. St. Michele to visit the Cave of St. Michele. Return to San G. Rotondo for dinner and overnight.

Day 5) This morning after breakfast we depart to Assisi. En route stop in Loreto.V’sit of the Santa Casa (Holy House) said to be the house in which the Virgin Mary lived in Nazareth Continue to Assisi, visit of the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli before checking in at your hotel. Dinner at the hotel

Day 6) After breakfast we attend a Mass before departing on a guided tour of Assisi. Visit the places most associated with St. Francis such as the Basilica of Saint Francis with its early Renaissance masterpieces. Visit the church of St. Claire, and the Town Hall Square with its People’s Palace, Roman Temple dedicated to Minerva. Departure in the afternoon to Rome. Dinner and overnight in Rome Day 7) This morning meet your local guide for a walking tour of Ancient Rome. Arriving at Piazza Venezia, then we continue on foot to the famous Piazza del Campidoglio designed by Michelangelo from where you will have a fantastic view of the Roman Forum. Visit of the Palatine Hill and the Coliseum. Continue to St Peter in Chains, In the afternoon we drive along the Ancient Appian Way, we will pass by the Chapel of “Domine quo Vadis’ before arriving at the Catacombs, We end up our tour with the visit of St Paul Outside the Walls. Transfer to a local Trattoria’ for your farewell dinner. Return to the hotel for overnight.

Day 8) It is time to say goodbye to Italy. Transfer to Rome airport
